The Art of The Copper Sprinkler

Many times, a specific metal is chosen as the primary metal in the creation of a piece of machinery or equipment for a very specific reason. The reason could be because the specific metal serves its duties better than a different kind of metal would. Other times, the choice is based on purely cosmetic reasons. When it comes to the metal copper, the choice to use copper is usually decided upon because copper has a solid durability that makes its ability to function more reliable.

So, it is no surprise that when it comes to lawn care, one will find quite the copper sprinkler as a common item on lawns all across the countryside. This is because a copper sprinkler will not degrade or become ill functioning after being exposed to the elements. Copper is always a wise choice for products built to last. It would seem, however, that copper is not tapped for cosmetic purposes. Hmmm. Not so fast!

The copper sprinkler is also used as the basis for what has become known as art sprinklers. That is, sprinklers that are designed in a variety of creative ways. For example, a copper sprinkler can be designed as an elephant with the water spurting from the elephant’s trunk as it spins around. That funny and cute decorative means of operating a copper sprinkler will surely raise eyebrows from those who pass by. Of course, there are many other different statuesque designs that can be tapped to make the copper sprinkler system look like a work of art as opposed to a merely functional lawn instrument.

The durability issue returns to the forefront as well as the work of art will last quite a long time since it has been made of copper. While any metal can be used, copper is selected because it can handle the duties while keeping the art work looking detailed and impressive.
